Macrocytic Anemia Information - symptoms, picture, cause of Macrocytic Anemia diseaseMacrocytic Anemia InformationMacrocytic Anemia is very common vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 is essential for normal nervous system function and blood cell production. The main sources of vitamin B12 include meat, eggs, and dairy products. For vitamin B12 to be absorbed by the body, it must bind to intrinsic factor , a protein secreted by cells in the stomach. The main cause of Macrocytic Anemia in pregnancy is iron deficiency as the result shows. Macrocytic Anemia is defined as a decrease in the circulating RBC mass and a corresponding decrease in the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood. Macrocytic Anemia, unless it is severe, is unlikely to harm your baby, although iron deficiency has been linked to an increased risk of preterm birth and low birthweight. Mild anemia are often assymptomatic.
