Questions Solutions
Please tell me if we can replace fresh coconut with the desiccated coconut powder we get in the market for any recipe. Desiccated coconut can be used instead of fresh coconut in recipes but after a simple procedure. Soak desiccated coconut in a bowl with equal proportions of warm milk and water for about half an hour .put into a mixer and blend .you will have the equivalent of freshly ground coconut in looks as well as taste and flavour.
How can we find out whether the honey that we buy from the market is adulterated or not ? To find out if the honey we have bought and have been always buying and using is Adulterated or not, take a glass filled with water, and pour a few drops of honey into it. In Case the honey mixes rapidly with the water, changing its colour, then it is not genuine.if the drops of honey settles to the bottom of the glass, it is hundred percent pure and genuine.
What precautions should we take while preparing pickles so that we get fungus-free,
Tasty pickle the whole year ?
White preparing pickles, you should use vegetables which are neither too raw or overripe. wash and dry all utensils and the ingredients. containers, ingredients, spoons and ladles should also be perfectly dry. while mixing oil, spices perfectly dry. while mixing oil, spices and other ingredients, use only wooden spoons or ladles. Salt crystals should be dried and powdered to be used for pickles, instead of the iodised or table salt.
Can you please tell us if fruits eaten as such are more beneficial, or if taken in juIce form? You must drink fruit juices only if you are on a liquid diet. When we make fruit juice, we not only loss all the fibre containing many of the essential vitamins but we also make the sugar easily available to the body. This causes an unhealthy insulin fluctuation. Also, the vitamin C is lost on exposure to air due to oxidation. So, it is better to eat fruits rather than drink them.
